This might be better suited in one of the server forums, although its not really based upon it.

We have a mail server from our ISP and Outlook on all the companies computers, no Exchange here.  Most of the older people here use their work email as their personal email and have spam out the @@@ because of it.  They have been doing that way before I arrived so their email is on multiple spam lists.  Blacklisting wont work and their are minimal tools on the Management page of the ISP's webserver website.  Is there anything in particular that I could be doing to lessen the spam?  What are good practices used that Im missing out on?

I had heard about K9 but it doesnt seem to function the way I would need it too especially on a multi-PC install.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Something like this works very well.  Costs money.

MXLogic - http://www.mx-logic.net/

Wasn't part of Mcafee when I used it, but worked great.  Filters all email for porno, swear words, spam and viruses before it ever gets to you.

Wonder if it would work though without a server on your side.

If it's for a business I would go with the paid option and get Postini filtering.  it has a 99% success spam filtering rating.  you can't get much better than that.
google postini so far it's the best I've seen.

Right, I said "like this" and then you pick your brand - coke, pepsi, postini, mxlogic, etc.

If you're the administrator, it's fun to see what emails get caught in the porno filter or swear word filter and WHO is sending them.

Gives you a different feeling about coworkers - all in the name of doing your job as email admin of course.
