Hi,

We have a "customer services" number set up with no physical phone attached with out of hours voice mail message, which needs to be changed. How can we change the message on an extension from another extension?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

...sorry for this being disjointed. The extension we need to change the voice mail recording is a Hunt Group. Thanks, SB

Is this embedded voicemai?

If so then dial the voicemail pilot and when asked for your passcode press *, the system should ask for your mailbox number. Enter the "Customer Services" mailbox and passcode etc...

IF its a Nupoint I think the default is dial # in the AA and it asks for a mailbox number.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Thanks guys, what I eventually did was use the outside long number to access the voice mail system (so when you are outside the business you can dial in, enter your extension and get your voice mail) and then having the customer services team change their voice message that way.

If we dialed the voice mail system extension from inside it defaulted to the extension we were dialing from with no option of inputting your extension, so the only way in - was out.

Thanks again,
StinkBug

It won't give an option to input another extension until you press *

Yes depending on the voicemail you can back out of the system asking you for your password i.e it recognizes your phone, by dialing * or # and nothing else. Depends on the setup.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
