Mounting DVD in SUSE Server

Hi i have tried many attempts to mount DVD in VMware SUSE with no success. The procedures are as follow

In VSphere Client,

select the VM for SUSE server --> connect CD/DVD drives --> Connect to F;

Then in SUSE, i enter command : mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/dvd

It always throws a message :

mount: /dev/hdc: Cant read superblock

I've always used command : "mount /dev/sr0 /mnt/dvd" to mount DVD onto SUSE not running on VMware. This works fine.

Appreciate any help given.
