I am working in InDesign 5.5 on multipage documents set up with separate layers for text and colour. My files are CMYK with spot TEXT BLACK but for some reason the text is reversing out of 'paper' 90% opaque. Where am I going wrong.

You could try posting in the InDesign forum here. This does not seem to have anything to do with Mac OS.
