Today I installed a new IPO with 9508 extensions and "found" a problem with the phonebook.

When I wan´t to program a new number into the personal phonebook it won´t work.

When I press the softbutton "new" I can see the fields "number" and "name" for maybe half a second and then the fields disappear.
In this short moment also the softbutton´s change thier labeling - I can see the "save" button.

The 9508 firmware is r37.

Does anyone has the same problem or even a solution.

I also had the same problem as you, can't add a speed dial.

I’m also having problems with the navigation keys to work on my 9508 phones.
Sometime it moves sometime it doesn't.

The problem is the R37 firmware.
This worked on R36

I downgraded the phones back to R36 and I’m not having any issues.

I have found another issue with 7.0.27 and r37 fw on the 9508. Granted this is on a system running partner mode.

Ext auto icm buttons set for voice (*10, etc.). When you touch a button for another ext, the speakerphone on the destination phone will turn on, but the user cant answer back hands-free.

Will probably try downgrading fw on sets first before taking system down to 7.0.23.

Replaced a bad combo card was the reason to go from 7.0.5 to latest.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't catch that one yet. I am taking a demo system with 9508 sets, which was upgraded to 7.0.27 a couple days ago, to a potential customer today. The phones are downgrading now. It wouldn't be fun to tell a potential customer that the latest update broke something that worked in the previous update.

Where have you found the R36.bin ? Into the 7.0(23) folder there is the 9500R34 one, zarlink and bootfile are the same of 7.0(27) and 8.0

The R36 bin is in the patch for 7.0 (23)
It's labeled PATCH7_0_232702
The patch fixes the speakerphone problem with R34

I am experiencing the same problem with the R37 bin files for the 9500 phones. The arrow keys do not work. I put the R36 file on my SD card but it would not load it. I then renamed the R36 bin file to R37 which caused it to load but the phone knows that it R36 so it just keeps looking for R37. What is the process to get this to work?

Hi,

I´m having the same problem to downgrade the phones.
How do I have to do this?

You can't do that.
The software wants R37 and not R36 so you need to download the IPO if you want the phone's on R36 or older.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

So I do have to downgrade the whole system to 7.0.23 (patched).
Is this correct?

Yes you are correct.

Oh yeah but don't forget that any R7 release before 7.0.27 crashes if you breathe on it wrong. So pick your poison; slow phones or an unstable system. And don't even think about using R8, cause it uses R37 for the 9500 series as well......hmmmm I guess sell R6?

Jallen2020, i have raised a bug for a not responding down arrow for 7.0.27.
But this issue was not there on 8.0.16

I don't know about other problems but i think it is a problemm with the 7.0.27 software and not the R37 firmware.

Also the 9504 did not have this problem at all.

So if someone want's to try it then we will know it all.

Yep I haven't tried the 9504 so not sure but we hardly sell any of those so I'm not too concerned.

In 7.0.27, its not only the nav arrow issues, but the overall latency of the phone is bad, and gets worse the bigger the system. When you dial, numbers appear on the screen about 1 second after you actually press them.

In 8.0.16, the speed is better, but the phones have "lock up" issues where the phone will look normal, but will be frozen in time and have no dialtone until you power cycle, then it comes back fine. However this is extremely annoying to customers so its really no better at that point.

can anyone explain how to apply the patch to R7.0.27
is it copy and replace the 4 files on the C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager folder ?? that's it?? do i have to reboot ?? something else ?

thanks
