I am in the process of starting my PM training, and need some advice on which track to pursue. I am in IT/Telecommunication and see that Comptia has a Certification " Project+" available. Is this an accepted Cert. in the industry?

The most universally accepted certification for Project Management is the PMP, Project Management Professional.  It is certified by PMI, Project Management Institute.  www.pmi.org

I agree with john.

In the UK you might also consider Prince 2. http://www.prince-officialsite.com/
