Hi,
Client has lost his log on and password for his contact store.
If memory serves me correctly there is a way to go in to the files and delete the user - which then prompts the system to create a new initial admin user?
Can anyone tell me where that is please?
& I assume that best practice (besides logging the password if they give it to us) would be to log in as an admin user (keep that for us) and to create a new account for the end user...

thanks

Thanks - but the links in that one do not work.
Looks like the website has gone.
I have the contact store install document but cannot see this in there.
From memory you edit a document in the witness folder - again I cannot see anything familiar.

what version of contact store do you have?

I have it saved as a PDF.
Where can i upload it to?

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Thank you.

Thanks a lot,

However I feel silly now. I did a little search for the enterprise manager and SQL etc on the PC to see if the application was there.
I do not recall this process - but definately did reset this password previously.
In that search I can see a few references to Contact_Store 7_8_16

Does this change how I go about the reset or do I proceed with installing Enterprise Manager?
thanks

you cant change that password - apparently you need to send the DB to Avaya!?!

You can still do this on the newer versions of ContactStore, you just need a Postgres GUI rather than Enterprise Manager/SQL Studio Express. I've done it before with pgAdmin ( IIRC the port used by ContactStore postgres is not standard, but you can find it in the properties file.

Thanks Latitude12.
That sounded familiar - and pgadminIII is on this PC - it must be how I did it last time.
Any tips on where to go? Nice tips :)
But I am exploring!!! Must be there somewhere!!

Can you get in to the DB? If so, there is a table with the user information (can't remember the name, but it's something obvious) and what you need to do is delete the characters in the password field, then you should be able to login with no password (like a new install).
