Setting a Backup Internet

SSG 140 OS 6.2
We are currently using a T-1 for internet and are about to get a 50Meg cable internet connect.  I would like to move the T-1 to more of a backup role and make the new 50 Meg connection the main internet connection.

Can someone point me in the direction of an example of how this might be done?  I have tried playing around a little, but cant seem to get it.

I think my default route going to my T-1 is stopping the cable connection from working.  Is there a way to test the cable connection without removing the default route and taking everyone offline?
