After drive burn up I  inststalled w 7 then, office 2010 (earlier version was squirly) and am having problems.  As usual, MS fixed what warn't broke, and it takes me five minutes with all the clutter to find what I need (stupid stuff like Print). The problems so far are with word.

Is there a way to get to options and either set the view back to the old format (ribbon/taskbar/whatever)? Does anyone know where to access the options period? (I can customize the task bars, I want them GONE)

THX. This is driving me nuts.

This is a Windows 2000 forum definitely wrong place for the post.

You either want the forum68: Microsoft: Office or forum1726: Microsoft: Windows 7

Anyway, Office 2010 follows suite from Office 2007. Which yes, replaced the menus, with the ribbons.

You can't get rid of them sadly.

All configuration options have now moved to the Settings menu in the Office Button Menu. Blue button on the top left corner.

Everything else is in the different tabs of the Ribbons.

Double click the ribbon and it will minimize, or CTRL+F1. Click on a tab and the ribbon comes back. If you want you can customize the ribbon, and create a ribbon that is blank, or one that just has the actions you most use.
