Greetings,

I have installed W2k on a new Intel i5-650/Asus P7H55D-M EVO desktop system via slipstreamed sp4 CD.

I cannot get USB 2.0 to work. If I enable USB in bios I get BSOD:

STOP c000026c <unable to load ...usbhub20.sys ...>

Driver updates from Asus and Intel have been repeatedly applied. Nothing seems to help.

Is there some reason I should be having problems with W2K USB drivers for Intel H55 chipset?

Any/all help much appreciated. With no USB and only 1 ps/2 port, I can have ksyboard or mouse but not both. Almost like having hands tied behind my back. sad

TIA,
PuddingMan

Did you do the rollup after sp4? fixes a lot of usb and other issues. My question would be why? Why use such an old and outdated OS on a new system? Also I don't see any windows 2k drivers on the Asustek website for this board. That could be the issue, there are no drivers available for the board for that old of an OS. XP is supported.

Ahhh. I neglected the rollup. Thanks.

I don't recall any USB problems between sp4 and rollup, but ...

There are features of W2k that I like and will use. The system will be multi-boot:
Win7 is installed and partially config'd on 1 of the (unplugged) HD's.

How carefully did you look? As you say, XP is supported, and XP is largely W2k
with bells/whistles. Here is part of ibexusb.inf from the Asus driver library:

; ****************************************************************************
; **    Filename:  IbexUSB.INF
; **    Abstract:  Windows* 2000 and XP INF, 2k3 & 2k8 Server INF,
; **               Vista Update File for Intel(R) 82801 USB devices
; **    Last Update: June 04, 2009 (Version 9.1.1 Build 1013)
; ****************************************************************************

The system will boot now , but I still have no functioning USB. The USB Host Cntlr
in Computer Mngr says 'device is working', but my USB kb/mouse function not. Also,
Ethernet Cntlr, etc are yellow question marks.

Other ideas for these W2k drivers??

Thanks,
Puddin'
