Greetings all,

We recently contracted with a 3rd party hosting company to handle all incoming/outgoing mails for viruses, etc. All emails are forwarded to this company. Since that happened, in the Event Viewer I am constantly receiving the following error "The message from the spool file XXXXXX seems to be looping through the routing extension for the Internet Mail Service." I've added the 3rd party company's address in the Routing and also added an MX record in DNS. What am I missing. Please help!

I do thank you all for your assistance.

Configure Exchange to send your outbound email to a smarthost, and use the IP address for the external company's server.

Greetings zbnet,

I do thank you for your time and your answer. I will go forth and configure Exchange with your suggestion. Thank you.

Greeting zbnet,

I do apologize for not been able to figure out where to add the outbound option you alluded to. I do confess that I am not too savvy with Exchange. Can you provide a bit more detail on which screen I need to enter to add that option?

Thanks,

Richard

You want the Internet Mail Services, I think it's on the Connections tab (it's been a long time since I did 5.5 support!)

Have your company any plans to upgrade this email server to a modern, supported version?
