Hello all, new to the boards here,

We have a few Nortel 2050 softphones up and running here in our office. We recently got a contractor working offsite, and we want to set him up with one to cut down on log distance. So I set up a tn for him in the system, enter all the same settings as here in the office, and wham, server unresponsive. He is on our network through vpn, can even ping and get to the CS1000, but cannot connect with the same settings. Any ideas?

cisco vpn? if so, reset the hardware ID on the 2050 profile.

Yes, it's a Cisco VPN, and we had them reset the hardware id at the beginning of this whole thing,to no avail.

Is the hardware id supposed to change once you reset it? Because it is staying the same no matter what I do.

have your cisco people verify that they are not blocking any of the ports you need.

There is an NTP that details all of the ports that each IP application needs to be opened in order to operate correctly.

Also,

If you are using anything like Symantec endpoint protection, try turning it off, and see if the softphone connects.
