Anyone with insight or tips on corrected what I call an application pause with Btrieve 6.15 on Novell 3.x with Macola accounting?  New workstations with XP on them appear to have trouble interfacing with the database and randomly lock the application.  After a few minutes, it releases it.  Attempts to adjust the interface have not been successful.  wk32set and adjusting local, requester and engine.  My suspicion is there is a missing entry in the registry, but it's so old and not supported, it's tough to know for sure.  Just hoping for someone who has experienced this and knows how to correct?  BTW...we are converting off, so it's only temporary.
Thanks so much.

Do you have any other Btrieve tools like the Function Executor?  If so, when the application locks, try opening a Btrieve data file using the Function Executor to see what error occurs (if any).
When the application locks, can you do anything else on the system?  For example, copy a file to or from the NetWare server?
Just to be clear, the application locks, then after a few minutes works correctly?  Is there any error? What about other workstations?  Do they have any errors or messages when the app is locked?

thanks.
not familar with function executer, but would if it's helpful.
unfortunately, no errors given.  Yes, when it locks, this user can work in other windows programs locally, and other users on the application are not affected, and we can do other things on the netware server.

The function executor is a windows tool included with the Workstation engine.  In 6.15, it was called WBEXEC.EXE.  It's not a real easy tool.  You can find an easier tool (and 32 bit) at http://www.pervasivedb.com/Database/support/Pages/toolbox.aspx#Btrieve_Executor.
