I set up a bcm 450 with Pstn fallback to maintain 5 digit dialing if the voip trunk fails, but now when I try dialing out using PRI I get "Expensive Route" on the phone. Is there a way to remove this message. The destination digit for dialing out on PRI is not part of a routing service.

Is the routing service mode active..
Can you see the Control extn and does it say SERVICE MODES on the display.
Expensive route is display when the first route fails so as it goes via the 2nd route (expensive Route)

No the message cant be removed or changed>

routing service is active. Why would the "expensive route" message would be display with the destination code dial is not part of the routing service.

Here's the dialing plan

001 BlocA (Voip)
002 external # 555123 BlocB (PRI) fallback
003 BlocB (PRI)

5A route 002 abs 0
first route 001 abs 0
9A route 003
91A route 003
911 route 003

routing service is only for des code 5A, but why when I dial 9 555 123 4678 "expensive route" shows up. I can see fallback is working, monitoring with bcm monitor. Is there something I'm not doing right. It would be annoying for the user that when they're 10 digit dialing the "expensive route" would show up every time.

How is the service set up. Normal route is not the first route that is used.

Route 002 is the fallback for Voip. Des Code 5A is the only one set with a first route and for schedule routing service. My question is why when I dial 9A I would get "expensive route" even though it not set up with any routing service.

This happened to me recently and i think i left routing service for 9 as first route 001 which is my PRI lines.

This way the 9 calls would be force to go through route 001 first and not play back expensive route.

so in your case set your FIRST ROUTE for 9,9a,911 to 003
