Target Excel XP formatting

I am new to PDI and I am tyring to build an output Excel file. I want to format some source data fields prior to moving them to the spreadsheet. One example, input is 3333.4567 and I want to format the number to 3,333 within th eoutput target field. I have used format and round but, the field is still be ing populated as the source field. Any ideas on how to change Excel cell attrbutes?
