Apologies,

But I have had to reconfigured our Veritas V10 software (Small Business Server version) (as it has never worked right - we were using removeable USB drives as media, but all on 1 back up to disk device)

Howver, looking at the selection lists, I have entries for "Microsoft Exchange Mailboxes" and "Microsoft Information Store" -> "first Storage Group".  I read this as we are backing up the same information twice (although 1st allows me to restore individual mailboxes and teh 2nd to restore the entire database)  Not all the individual mailboxes are selected for backup, but this is intentional

Am I right, and so can deselect the 2nd without losing the ability to restore the exchange.  I am prepared to accept a penalty of restoration time ( I assume that restoring the all the individual mail boxes will take longer than restoring the entire information store) against gain of decreased storage requirements.  Again the loss of the unselected mailboxes is acceptable

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
