I am trying to set up Message forwarding from a CP5.0 box to Exchange . I think it is set up but when the user turns on the rule, the next time they go in it says there is a rule disabled and when I look in CP, it shows disabled. Do I enable the rule in CP and how? I have the message rule box checked in the "user".Also Under "Messaging / Message Network Configuration/ Server Properties" I have the CP FQDN. Is that correct or should it be exchange address?
Any other help would be appreciated. Thanks
 
I forgot to mention the the Exchange server is 64 bit , running 2007.
 
The rule gets disabled because the message is undeliverable. Ensure you have the fully qualified domain name of the email server entered in CallPilot manager under Message Delivery Configuration->SMTP/VPIM address

Ensure that you can ping the FQDN of the email server from the console of CallPilot.

Ensure that the email server allows the request to be forwarded from CallPilot. To test this, perform a telnet to port 25 of the email server and send a dummy email address. You can look up on Google how to send an email through telnet.

Ensure you have selected in the mailbox COS Allow Message Forwarding rule and enter the email address to which you are forwarding the message.

Message forwarding can be enabled only through MyCallPilot or Tools in Desktop Messaging. The administrator cannot enable message forwarding. The administrator can only configure the email address to be specified.

Also you can try modifying the hosts file located on the Callpilot server in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc directory. You can open this fle with notepad and include a manual translation of ip to name for your e-mail server.
 
Thaks so much for the information. I had the wrong FQDN in CallPilot and the customers IT person said that with Exchange 2007, in order for CP to SMTP to Exchange, CP has to be on the Domain. Will add this weekend and see what takes place.
