Can one forward did calls externally without having an actual set. The realty company has rooms full of 7316's all forwarded to cell phones. Seems like kind of a waste.
You could also remove the received digits from the Target Lines and program them as Des Codes. (you will also have to change any DN's that match the recvd. numbers)
Here's how to do it:
Build a Remote Access package that allows access to the Line Pools you are using and assign it to the lines that are members of the pool.
Create a route for each of the des codes with the forward to number in the Dial Out/External Number field.
Create the associated Des Code, absorb all, and point it at the route.
Done!
Thank you, thank you. I have used line redirection, but not with target lines or DN's without phones. I didn't even think about the feature code. Even though that's what Deweyhumbolt was probably talking about. I may have used Supportdudes's idea if it didn't go over my head. But thanks to all none the less.
Just make sure that you keep good notes on lines that you have redirected. Otherwise a year down the road you try to assign that Target line to a new person and forgot that you had it redirected could be a nightmare.
It's been my experience that you can plug in a set, forward it, then remove the set and have the forwarding remain. This will last until a reboot or power loss.
Sorry I got over your head swfl ...
Is there a specific part you don't understand?
You're basically just tandeming the call in and back out of the system and having the route dial the destination number for you.
Well, we got lucky. We moved the MICS 7.1 to a new building, and it was down for about a half an hour. All the forwarded phones were still forwarded when we plugged her back in. Even the ports with no phones attached forwarded calls. Thanks SupportDude, it was just the thought of having to do that to 30 DN's was a bit overwhelming. I would still like to try that out though. Thanks to all.
