Hi All,
I am using edirectory server where users are configured. All configured users are having some password.

But when junk/any login name is given with blank password, authentication suceeds. Can anyone give any suggestion on why it is suceeding with blank password ?

With Regards,
nsvora

The only way that could happen is if you had an actual userid configured with a blank login. You're not going to be able to authenticate with just anything.

With default password policy, there is nothing that requires a password. However, policies can be configured to require very complex passwords and policies.

You can enable the Universal Password for some very complex policies.. You'll have to look this up in the Documentation - it's too complex for here..

If you just want to turn on a simple policy, you need to use ConsoleOne and open the user properties, then there is a Restrictions tab and you should be able to find what you are looking for.  Require password, password change policy, etc. Very basic but will do the trick.  Since this method is not Global, you have to do it for all users.

On the flipside, if you use Universal Password, you can apply a global policy to a container or group of users and make it a lot easier for you.
