Has anyone set up a DID trunk and targetline recently. I have 4 DID trunks. A large block of DIDs from the telco. I understand how to appear and ring under line assignment for the set side.

My question is how do you know which DID number out of the block I am using on each specific target line. How do I program: eg:" line 161 to be 555-5555"

Any ideas, I am new to DID programming.

Thanks in advance.

You pick them yourself.

You neglected to provide any type of system information, so I can't tell you exactly where your Target Lines begin.
Could be 120, 145, or 157.

Typically, I try to keep my DID's in sequence with the Target Lines.
You need to determine how many digits of the DID telco will be sending, option your Norstar for that received number length, configure the received number on the Target Line, and then assign the Target Line to a set.

Sorry It is a MICS 4.1 version. I think the telco is set to send the first 3 digits.
So what it sounds like is I just add in the DID last 4 digits into the target line name?
The target lines start at line 157
thanks for the quick response.

These are just DID trunks...I am looking through the docs right now under Target lines. tks

You need to make sure what Telco is sending.
You must set your received number length to match, or be less than, what telco is sending.
If Telco is sending 3 digits and you set the Norstar for 4 digits, it will never work. Vice versa will work fine.

I think I am bad at explaining. I understand the DID telco digits being absorbed and sent.
My issue is I have a block of 50 dids.

I want to use the 6th DID number (say 555-5555)and have it use target line 157 and appear and ring on set 223.

The question is the 5555, how to assign this number to the target line.
thanks...
clear as mud?

It's really simple just pick an available target ln. say 157 assign the rec'd digits of say 5555 to it, also make the prime set 5555. I don't know if your dn's match your DID's but they should it really makes things alot easier and cleaner to work with...

Thanks....that is the info I was after!! :)

Is there anyway to prevent the ringing on 1 of the DID numbers....We have a customer that canceled there DID number.
We monitor for them...there customers are still calling into the call centre and our techs are answering since it is still ringing.
I removed the rec'd digits on the target line, which is the last 3 of the number dialed. But when I call the DID number it still rings across the DID trunk line. In the display it say line49 or line 52...which are my DID trunks. I took the appearance and ringing off of the target line. But it still seems to ring through accross the trunks.
Is there any way to silence this ringing of the one number out of the DID block?

Put the rec digits back on the Target Line.
Don't assign the Target line to anything.
Make the Prime set for that Target Line = NONE

Tells us what you get, it should be a reorder tone.

Hawks is right on the money!

When you removed the Target Line, the call was still coming down the DID ckt. The Norstar will still answer the call and look at the received digits.
First it will compare the received digits to the destination code list to see if its supposed to tandem the call out another trunk group. If there is no match, it will compare the digits to received numbers configured for target lines. If there is no match, it will send the call to the Prime Set for the trunk the call arrived on.
