Hi Everyone,

I was wondering can some explain that the IP office works in this way and it is not something that can be changed.

If a call comes into the business and gets answered by someone. If they do a screened transfer the called handset rings as an external call and displays the external number and the user transfering. Is this normal operation and can you not change the ring style to sound as an internal call a long single ring rather than a ring ring.

This was a change made by Avaya, as aparently that's what people wanted.

Why would they want this?

I could understand a blind transfer but a screened transfer.

Thats what we all think but Avaya obvioulsy know better than the people on the front line.

NOT!

I hate this change too and causes me no end of grief. If they think people want it like this then give us the option not chnage it and tough!!!

I hope this is not another Nortel. We have alot of Nortel equipment and Nortels attitude is if it meets 80% of the common fetaures the other 20% does'nt matter. A big let down on the Nortel BCM is something as simple as extension names being limited to seven characters.

I'm still yet to hear of anyone that wanted this change. So for Avaya to say "it's what people wanted" is a strange one.
