616 v. DR5 DS 2

Friends,
I have a 616 that I am trying to upgrade to DR5/DS. Works fine with the plain 616 soft cart but when I plug in the DR5/DS cart, it won't settle down; I've tried two carts and two different KSU's w/the same result...I know it's an 'ole system but then I'm an 'ole guy too!

On a 616, DS software will only work in a DS control unit. DR5 is the best you can do with the control unit you have.

Thanks Brian but I only need the DR5 portion to work. I really don't care about disconnect supervision. The Verizon CO times out in about 20 seconds anyway. More suggestions please?

A standard DR5 will work in your control unit.

So I have to have a cart w/DR5 ONLY then?
(Which I don't have; I only have DR5/DS carts...)

Yes, you need a software cartridge that only says DR5.
