Hi

I am trying to create a read/write replica of a master tree.
I issued the below command
./ndspath ndsconfig add -t PRS_Tree -a cn=admin.o=HHS -n ou=servers.o=HHS -B 10.10.90.112@32524 -L 32389 -l 32636 -o 32028 -O 32030 -D /var/opt/novell/eDirectory/prs -p 10.10.90.119:32524 --config-file /etc/opt/novell/eDirectory/conf/prs/nds.conf

The output is as follows.

Enter the password for cn=admin.o=HHS:
Please enter the absolute path for the database files [ /var/opt/novell/eDirectory/prs/data/dib ]:

Configuring the NDAP interfaces... Done
Configuring the LDAP interfaces... Done
Configuring the HTTP interfaces... Done
Starting the service 'ndsd'... Done.

Configuring Novell eDirectory server with following parameters
        Admin name      = cn=admin.o=HHS
        Tree name       = PRS_Tree
        Server Context  = ou=servers.o=HHS
        DIB location    = /var/opt/novell/eDirectory/prs/data/dib

Logging into the tree as "cn=admin.o=HHS". Please wait...
Unable to login. Please make sure that you have provided correct password.
 unknown error -6039 (ffffe869 hex)
ERROR -6039: Setup for NDS installation failed.
Please make certain that you have provided the complete server and admin contexts.
Stopping the service 'ndsd'... Done.

I have tried this several times making sure that I enter the correct password. But still I get the same error. The contexts are also correct.

What could be the reason for this?

I checked the contents under ndsd.log. It is as below.

hmm, been a while since I have used that method to setup on Linux.  A couple things I would try would be;

a.   Use commas instead or periods (required method when entering the user name in the OES2 GUI when loading

b.   More than likely, you need fully qualified name.  It may look like you are, but your missing the leading period in front of the cn (example .cn=admin.o=HHS )
