We just upgraded Call Pilot to 4.04 and the upgrade went well. The only issue we have found is with faxing from a XP desktop using the Nortel Fax printer. The screens come up just like they used to but we get the following message. "Failed to send fax message. Would you like to save the file?" The event logs show nothing. We have the same problem using the old printer driver from Unified Messaging and the new one. Every other aspect of faxing is working fine as far as I can tell. Any thoughts would be appreciated

ParkView..did you load the version of desktop messaging
with the 4.04 upgrade it will be 4.04.04.32 desktop messaging,4.04.04.20 my callpilot, pep cp404s03g07c callpilot
manager,cp40404su03s service update,and your appbuilder
pep cp404s03g02a

no problems only solutions

Sorry about the delay. It took me a while to actually figure out how to fix it. Bottom line is that the CLAN IP information was not correct. CLAN IP Properties / Advanced / DNS / Append these DNS suffixes (in order). This is where I added the rest (suffix) of the FQDN. When you do ipconfig /all you will see the FQDN just as it appears in CallPilot. For me this was necessary because this server is not a part of my domain and never will be. This allowed all versions of Unified Messaging clients, that I tried, to work regarding outbound faxing.

I was getting the same "Failed to send fax message".

I have checked my versions as recommended by "strmwalker".

My CP server is at 04.04.04.17
My CP desktop messaging is at 04.04.04.18
My CP reporter is at 04.04.04.10

I checked the D:\temp folder on the server for the PEP's and this is what I have:

CP404S03G07C
CP404S03G21S
CP404SEC005S
CP40404SU03S

Where would I find the files I need to update by desktop messaging and my reporter versions?

Thanks.

parkview can you make this a little more simple for me to understand. Did you do the changes to the client pcs or was this on the cp server.?
I have the same problem when trying to use print nortel fax.

This was done on the CallPilot server. The settings I discussed are for the network properties of the CLAN NIC card. This is the card that attaches callpilot to your local network and is on the DNS tab. Hope this helps.
