Is it possible to stop extensions from dialing other extensions?

All are in the 200 range. Tried 2XX, 2XX, busy.

This could be a deal breaker for the sales guy, so any help would be most greatly appreciated.

i think ron is right. by the way the ipo matches numbers dialed it will always match an ext number before any short code.

i never tryed this but can't you use a hotline ?
lets say with secondairy dailtone
so pick up the handset the phone dails a 9 or a 0
then dail the rest of the number ?

then how do you dial the extensions you are allowed to dial?

that was not his question :)
you are right
it is then all or nothing
but like i said i never tested it and i don't know if it works on an ipo
i know you can do this on a intergal 55 (totaly different pbx)

you would not be allowed to dial any exts or vmail or outside numbers

set the dial delay count to 2, dial delay time 3 or 4 seconds.
create shortcodes for those users not allowed to dial the 2xx numbers:
sc 20
tn <empty>
action busy

sc 21
tn <empty>
action busy

etc.
adjust all other "dial" type of shortcodes, add a semicolon ( ; ) at the end of the shortcodes

If I wanted to make a user right for say company "A" only allow them to dial 215, 220, 221, 235. Could I make a code
sc 2xx
tn <empty>
action busy

sc 215
tn <empty>
action dial

etc?????

That is the desired scenario....

DUDE, if this works...I might even kiss you....

I see what intrigrant and thats a pretty good idea (have you tested that? will it work?)but I hate solutions like that because they become a nightmare to maintain.

Besides, I don't know how other guys do it but we try to let the customer keep existing extensions. What if the restricted exts are all over the map?

They are all over the map. They have 65 users from 200-299 and hunt groups in the 300's.

I'm going to put this on my wish list, as well as being able to restrict users from receiving voice announce even if the calling user has been given auto intercom privileges.
