ATA's on IPO 406v2

I've been looking for this forever. I'd like people to list the brands/model numbers they've had success with. SPecifically, does ones that allow the IPO to set some form of VM Notification (stutter dialtone, CLID display, something).

Hi There, I use Planet VIP-320 (DECT) voice gateway and I suppose that the other Planet VIP models work as well using H.323. These are much cheaper than Cisco ATA.
You need a 3rd party license on the IPO to make it work.

Have you been able to use it for an analog station (not FAX/Modem) and somehow notify that phone it has a voicemail (like with stutter dialtone)?

Sorry but I did not understand your requirement completely.
To read voicemail I just press *17 and it reads it. To notify you can use voicemail ringback.

OK, when a VM message is left for a digital station, you get a light. When a VM message is left for an analog station, you get stutter dialtone (beep, beep, beep, beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppp).

In my experience here, the ATAs take in all the digits, then send the call info to the PBX. Thats in Gateway mode. If they're acting like a station, they shouldn't be generating internal dialtone, but rather playing the dialtone off the PBX (in which case the station user would hear the stutter dialton when they have voicemail).

My goal is to put an ATA in for a user and have it be the exact same functionality as if they were connected to an analog station module.

In your case you should program your ATA to connect to the IPO when the phone connected to it goes off hook. In this way then you will hear the IPO tone.
On some gateways this is called "hotline" to allow you to do a VOIP call without keying in any number. i.e when the phone goes off hook.

From the extension configuration in the IPO then you must tick off local tones.

In the mode above your 3rd party box will act like the normal Avaya Phone (getting the tone from the IPO).

However way back when I had an ATA in hand, I remember that the ATA186 in h.323 mode does not provide a tone, if it is not successfully registered with a gatekeeper. Therefore if you are getting the tone on the ATA it must be the IPO tone. To be sure pull out the network cable and with the phone in the off hook position check whether the tone stops immediately. If it stops then it can be the IPO tone.

You ACTUALLY got an ATA 186 to work as a station rather than a gateway (IP TIE Trunk)? HOW?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

And, the ATA you use, where do you get them?
