We have a Merlin Magix 3.0 with WinSPM 9.0 and Merlin Messaging 4.0. In our night Auto Attendant we have a sub menu that offers several choices (about 7 at any given time). Each choice goes to a different voice mailbox. Is there any way to make the mailbox or the choice on the submenu call transfer to an outside number? Each mailbox would have a different outside number that the call would be transferred to. Or

Is there anyway to have a non-existant extension dial out through programming? All physical extensions are being used (we do not have extra physical extensions available on which to attach a phone to setup call forwarding for each). The forwarding would have to be through WinSPM. TIA for any suggestions.

I believe you can do this. Set the selector codes in the sub menu to be selector code transfer to adjunct exts. then remote call forward those exts to the numbers you want, or set the zero out in the mailboxes to the adjuncts and remote call forward that way.

Yes, you can specify the extension number to transfer to on your selector code option. Then, go into system programming and authorize those extensions for remote forward. You may also have to authorize remote transfer for the voice mail ports (I forget). Then, program a remote forward button on each of those extensions. Then, enter the outside number you want the extension to forward to (like a cell, home phone#, etc.). After hours, the person would have to activate the remote forward button and enter the phone number they want their calls to go. If it goes to a cell or other phone with voice mail - you may have to play with the delay (on the outside phone or internal vm) - to have any message go to the voice mail you want. As a simpler alternative - check your Messaging R4 documentation - I know the Partner R7 version of the VM has an option when you program an individual mailbox to first call a cell or home phone# "x" number of times - before the VM pulls the call back to leave a message.

You can forward an adjunct extension (phantom) as well as a regular extension. You must make sure remote forward is on for the extension as well as assign an authorization code to the extension. You can then forward the adjunct from any phone by going off-hook, pressing #80, the authorization code and #, *33, the telephone number destination starting with "9" and # to enter.

So, for extension 100, authorization code 1234, you would press #80 1234# *33 91xxxxxxxxxx#

Telecomboy,
Are we talking about a piece of equipment that essentially splits off the second line on a multi-line phone?

Sue

No, the adjuncts exist (whether real or phantom) for every MLX phone. Every Magix 4400 series phone has an adjunct extension as well - that can be used for "phantom" extension programming. If you decide to use an adjunct, as compared to a real phone, for your forwarding, then you need to do two things. One authorize remote forwarding for the adjunct extension and add a line and/or SA button - so it has access to an outside line. Then set up an authorization code for the adjunct - so you can remote program the forwarding sequence from any telephone - as mentioned by Telecomboy. Using an adjunct has the advantage of your being able to program the remote forwarding number from any phone, inside or outside.

Thanks for your post. In WinSPM I see two sets of extensions: our regular extensions that we all know and a second set that in our case, at least, start with 73xx. Are the 73xx numbers what you are referring to?

Sue

Yes - they are the adjunct extension numbers - and you can use system renumber to change them to whatever extension number you like. They only exist for MLX and Magix 4400 series phones. You will not see them for single-line phones - as on an 012 or 016 T/R card. These extensions have no adjuncts.
