Transfering fsmo roles to another domain controller

One of the two domain controllers running windows 2000 server had its motherboard temperature overheated and to avoid any problem that might render the system not booting incase some parts burn out, I have built another server, joined it to the domain and promoted it to a domain controller but had problems with replication which took me sometime to figure out that the cause was dns issue
Before,I face any problem, I will like to transfer all the 5 fsmo roles to the new server but my question is how to go about it.Do I have to initiate this transfer from the old domain controller holding these roles. A step by step approach will be highly appreciated

Or, assuming you've already setup the second DC to handle DNS, DHCP, etc., you can simply DCPROMO the 1st DC out and it will automatically transfer the FSMO roles to the remaining DC.

If I run the dcpromo and demote the said server to a member server status, can I allow it to be on the network since that server is configured as the primary server for the
Symantec Antivirus version 9
I did installed the dns on the new server before promoting it to dc and I use the Liksys router as my dhcp since is a small network of just 20 users.

Yes, shouldn't effect the Symantec at all since it doesn't require to be loaded on a DC. When you DCPROMO it out, it will become a regular member server.

I'd toss DHCP on a server as opposed to relying upon a Linksys router. With only 20 members you're not gonna stress it out at all.
