Have this problem where all network targets for backup jobs are now de-selected in the backup job. So I choose Modify Job & then select the required hosts, destination & schedule etc, choose Start Validates/Packages & Resubmits sucessfully, but then when I browse the job again all the network hosts are now not selected. However local targets are still selected.

I think this might have to do with caroot, because this has happened since we had "failed to authenticate the user caroot (EC=-1)" error message, which I've resolved by resetting the caroot password. Rebooted etc...

Running Version 9.0 - Build 2050....any ideas?

do you have the agents on the network servers you want to backup?
if not then you have to use the domain admin account to access them also i have had a similar type of problem i resolved it by stopping all engines and deleting all the jobs manualy from the arcerve folder. then rebooted, this is a usefull trick for stuck jobs :) this might help?
olso is anything in the arcserve folder read only this might stop it from saving the created job and execuring it will your changes? you can also try pruning the jpb database...

you little gem!! put in my domain backup account and works fine. Thx heaps!!
