i find myself utterly perplexed by what is going on. i have fedora core 3 installed on my dell sc420. i have never used linux so its a bit intense. well i have followed the manual config set to the letter for samba but i cannot seem to get it to work. heres what im looking at. i need my sc420 to server files for a local network. the other machines will be xp. i have it setup to the point where i can see the folders that are shared on the server but cannot access them. a variety of errors come oup. some saying local host not found. and others about duplicate names on the server. what i need to do is get this up and running quickly. something that hold files for me for a few hours till i get my other systems reset and fixed and then i can fiddle with fedora. i guess what im asking is there a simple config file i can write so that this can happen. i dont need any security or any parameters other then all users. what is the most basic way to configure this

cheers
Ryan
