When promoting my Win2K3 SP1 server to a DC I got:
Code:
MS DTC could not correctly process a DC Promotion/Demotion event. MS DTC will continue to function and will use the existing security settings. Error Specifics: %1
and
Code:
MS DTC could not correctly process a DC Promotion/Demotion event. MS DTC will continue to function and will use the existing security settings. Error Specifics: d:\srvrtm\com\complus\dtc\dtc\adme\uiname.cpp:9280, Pid: 416
No Callstack,
 CmdLine: C:\WINDOWS\system32\msdtc.exe

Should I be concerned? What do these mean?

Everything seems to be working fine...but the content implies that certain security settings might not be what they should be...which worries me...

I'm getting the same error, but my server has been up and running over a month. then all of a sudden, no promo or depromo and I'm getting this error in the logs.

This is what I ended up doing:

* Naviated to Administrative Tools -> Component Services
* Naviated to Console Root -> Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer
* Right-clicked My Computer and clicked Properties
* Selected MSDTC tab
* Clicked "Security Configuration"
* clicked "OK" (without changing any settings)
* Clicked "OK" again (without changing any settings)
* Right-clicked My Computer and clicked "Stop MS DTC"
* Right-clicked My Computer and clicked "Start MS DTC"

Yes, I know this is nonsense, but it did actually make the warnings go away. Chalk one up to Microsoft producing buggy code.
