OK, so, I have signed up to take the CRCP for XI.  I've talked to a few people in the community who have not passed their re-cert exam, so I'm kind of scared at this point to test.  So, my questions, I pose, for those of you who have taken the exam --

1 - Is it important to know about Web Intelligence (I have this course as eLearning)

2 - Do they ask any questions about the Data Essentials course?

3 - Is it important to know about any other CE servers than the LOV?

4 - For Exam 2, the one that covers RD 3 & 4, do they ask any questions about looping and how many questions do they ask?

5 - For Exam 2, where do I find info about SQLCon, the Dependency Checker, and Using modules?

6 - If I have taken RD 1, 2, & 3, how much other things do I need to know about, other than what's in the RD4?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

1 and 2 - No, it is a Crystal Reports cert, so all questions pertain to CR.

3 - No, but do know how the LOV works and what it interacts with

4 - I took the equivalent for Exam 2 in CRCP 10, and I can't quite recall.  I think there was at least a question or 2 on the topic dealing with syntax and how the loops worked.

5 - Look up those tools on the BOBJ website, you should be able to find info on them.

6 - Just make you know the stuff covered in those 3 classes, then find out what is covered in RD4 and study those topics.

Good Luck!

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the info.  I took part 1 today.  It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  I passed with an 88%, woohoo!  I am going to take part 2 Friday.  Here are the things that helped me study for this:

1 - Online learning, the partner recert. program, really just the new features part of it, not Webe, or Data Essentials.

2 - Annette Harper's book.  It rocks.  Yes, there are some new things for XI not covered in it, but I learned a lot from it and I've been using the product for almost 4 years.

3 - Reviewing the questions at the end of the RD 1 and 2 books.

What are the RD 1 and 2 books?

They are the books you get when you attend the BOBJ training classes for Crystal Reports.

What online learning did you use?

I purchased the partner recert. package which included some materials about what's new in XI.

That partner recert material and in particular the "Terry Talks" stuff is full of errors.

He keeps referrring to putting formulas in the repository (NO - it's custom functions you have in the repository).

He says there are a bunch of new financial functions in CR XI. (NO - they were new in CR 10.  XI has some new functions like Floor and Ceiling, Hierarchy level, and see if you can find the others).

He talks about the new funnel chart in CR XI (Sorry it was in Cr 10 - the new chart in XI is the Histogram chart).

They also have some screen dumps that are not in the product.  The File/Options/Servers tab is in their material but in the released product it's File/Options/HTML preview and smart tags.

Very poor quality.
