Running Macola 7.6.200.5, netware 5.1 SP6, Pervasive sql 2000i SP4, PWE (workflow explorer), client WXP sp2

Several weeks ago users started getting stretched screens. The first screen you see (PWE menus) is fine.  Any other screen you go into is stretched.  You can see all the boxes to enter data but part of the toolbar is missing, drop down arrows are gone, the screen goes on and on to the right (you can finally get to the end).  System seems to be updating ok.

This was happening occassionally, one user, then two, now all except one Macola user.  In the course of investigation, the culprit is one laptop.  If they log in,everyone else messes up (most of the time).  I have uninstalled Novell client, reinstalled.  Uninstalled spyware software, uninstalled/reinstalled Macola client.  If they log out and shut off machine(reboot does not work) everyone goes back to being fine.

The Macola (accounting software) forum offered no help except one user had the problem last year and it went away when them moved from the Novell environment to a Windows server.  That is not an option with us.

Has anyone had this to happen with other software.  The accounting software is the only thing on the server, so I do not know if other software would be effected.

Thanks

I highly doubt that it has anything to do with Novell.  It seems that people jump to the conclusion very quickly that everything is Novell's fault.

Don't know anything about Macola though.. is it a dos app?

Macola is not a DOS program.  It is a manufacturing software, Partly COBOL, Visual Basic.   I've not upgraded anything on it or anything else.  That is why it is so perplexing.  Thanks

I've heard of Macola, just never used seen it in action. What makes you think that the Novell server has anything to do with it?  At the most, it's using the Novell server for file storage and Pervasive SQL as a database engine.  How that would translate to problems with the front end interface, I have no idea.

I don't know Novell has anything to do with it...just the information I got from another Macola user saying they had the problem and it went away after they left Novell.  Posted to see if anyone using Novell had experienced this so I could eliminate from the equation.

Two days and no problems.  We had 4.83 Novell client on some XP machines and 4.9 on others.  We installed 4.91 on all XP machines.

Seems there was a conflict having different clients with XP.
Thanks for all your input.
