i am just learning to use pagemaker, i have just been updateing a text box,  just typing in new text,  i got almost to the bottom of the page, & all of the sudden the text will not go onto the next line, it is double spacing the lines of text,  i dont know if i hit something by mistake, but even when i go to another blank page & start typing it is still double spaced,  however the leading is reading the same amount as the other text.  i have restarted the computer. but i cant get this double spacing off.  any help will be greatly appreciated

thanks

Hi, junedonofrio,

Load up PM but do not open any publication.

In the Type menu, check the Character and Paragraph settings.  Set them to your preferred default choices - this wil become the global [no style] setting.

Exit PM and re-load.

For further details, read the user manual or "Looking at the Work Area" -> "Setting defaults and preferences" -> "Setting defaults" in the Helpfiles.

Iechyd da! John
