Any suggestions before X'ing the software?
The problem encountered is on a CICS 4.2 Standard Software with I-Rad and programmable prompts 30BWG06(?). Loop start lines on CI trunk cards. This system has been in service since '02. The customer is using the internal AA after 4 rings as a backup answering method. Callers are directed through a CCR tree with options 1 thru 6 to individual extensions. Vmail is Startalk Flash (Light)without AA feature of it's own.
Incoming callers (cell phones only) cannot successfully dial options 3, 4, 5, or 6. Tones are ignored and callers continue to hear recorded announcement. Option 1 & 2 work fine. Calls from POTS line work 100% on all options.
Powered down KSU. Following re-boot, test calls to all options worked. 1 time only. Second set of calls show all options 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 working with the exception of digit 3. Again all calls from POTS terminate properly on all options. ? ?

Hmmmm.... DTMF issue... Try upgrading the Flash Lite to the Flash Voicemail with AA. I am actually going to think this will continue to happen even if you run startup or replace the software. I may be wrong. I just always hate turing on the Internet AA on the CICS, it just doesn't work the way an AA should.

was it working previously, and just now went bad, or did you set it up for the first time and discover the problem

Bkrike:
System has been in service since sometime in 2002. Customer has been using internal AA since original in service date without previous problems.

The upgrade from the flash lite to flash2/4 can be costly if done legit..well at least when I looked into it.
Maybe time for CP100??

I have had this happen to customers (cell phone DTMF problems- but I don’t use CICS AA.) I usually just say "its those crazy cell phone makers and their sub-par towers..."

Anyhow, for this I would make up something along the lines of poor frequency modulation signal due to Bush allowing all the wireless mergers...then offer upgrade to CP100.

this problem makes no sense at all. I can't believe all cell phones don't get thru with dtmf. I think you have to narrow down to which cell phones because to the network a cellphone is just a phone. If the call is picked up can you converse with the cell phone user so you just can't blame it on one person is a bad coverage area. Keep us informed if you fix the problem. I can't believe its anything to do with the phone system though.

Did you try swapping out a CI card with a LS/DS to try to play with the CO length? otherwise I'm with bikechuck, have different people in the same areas on different wireless carriers to see if there is a difference.

I don't know at all how it works, but maybe all wireless carriers port into the local CO the same way & the level drops down or they are in the same trunking group.

Thank you for the replies. I am still in a quandry. Unfortunately I don't have access to other cell providers in the area to try test calls via their facilities.
As the problem is consistant thru all 5 hunting trunks (each member of the hunt group was dialled directly to ensure all trunks were presented an incoming call) it would not seem to point to a particular trunk, card, or port.
In any case, trunk cards were frogged between slots to see if: a) re-seating the cards would help situation and/or
b)lines 002, 003, 004 would now be working on portions of trunk card previously spare.
C.O settings as suggested by Sphoneman were also tried in various combinations without success. The digit 3 remains stubborn. Test calls from three different models of cell phones (although same service provider)fail. KSU was also defaulted through STARTUP and restored from configuration B/U. Still considering change of software (?)

Try using the # key then the number with the cell phone.

Case of blaming the appliance without confirming "power" source. Strange that Sphoneman's suggestions on changing CO settings on individual lines had no effect. Turns out that loop tests on all trunks showed lines to be borderline on circuit loss. Circuit conditioning @ CO applied to lines and all DTMF selections are working.
