IPO 406V2 Analog CO Lines, calls dropping

bwilch (TechnicalUser)

Greetings.  Have a setup as follows:
IPO406V2 running 2.1 (27).  DS-30, CO-16 VMPro.

The wiring from the outside NIU goes to a 66 block, from the 66 block, we have dedicated wires running over to the CO-16 module.

Callers will be talking to someone and the call will suddenly drop.  The calls come in through a huntgroup, then route to the users.  It appears to be on both inbound/outbound calls.  It appears to be completly random.  I've pulled the SMDR, but I don't see anything that is consistant between the calls which are being dropped.

I'm stumped on where to look next.  I know it's always easy to point the finger at the local provider, but before doing so, I want to make sure I've covered everything form our end that I can.

Suggestions?
Thanks!

You lost me with the The wiring from the outside NIU goes to a 66 block, from the 66 block, we have dedicated wires running over to the CO-16 module.

But first thing i would do is downgrade to 2.1(15) See if you get the same problems. After that if the problem still occurs what interface card are you using in the UK WE have
BRI,PRI and Analogue

Basically there are blocks on the oustide of the building that the local telco manages, from there, a cable goes into a 66 block (aka punchdown block), there are new wires running from there directly into the IP Office.  The analog lines are coming into an IPO 16 module (the 16 port analog trunk module).

I hate the idea of dropping the system down to 2.1 (15) might I ask why you suggest this?

Actually from my readings, I don't believe I can take the system back to 2.1 (15) due to the fact it's an 406V2.

I had this problem on a job and grounding the IPO modules fixed it
