Some of the cells(not every one)in my spreadsheet will change to a grey background after I have entered text into the cell.

Has anyone seen this before and/or know how to fix it?

Thanks,

Brian

Hi,

Select one of these cells -- menu item Format/Conditional Formatting

Is there anything in Conditional Formatting?

Are there any macros in this sheet? right-click sheet tab and select View Code

This is probably Conditional Formatting, as Skip says. The only other thing I can think of is if you have formats like it in the rows above, then you may have an option ticked...

Tools | Options | Edit {tab} | Extend data range formats and formulas {checked}

If this is not desired (and in fact the cause) then uncheck this option and confirm with the OK button.
