Hello,

I am looking for a GUI software or web interface for the Cisco 5500. I am using Cisco Network Assistant, but it does not support the 5500. I guess it is too old :(

Does anyone know of a GUI/Web interface that is compatible with the 5500?

Thanks,

Flynbrian

You can use CiscoWorks. That has a GUI for the 5500, however it's a massive application and pretty costly if all you want is a GUI for the 5500.

I would ask why you want a GUI though? Even the CiscoWorks GUI is pretty limited if you want to configure anything other than port speed & duplex or the access VLAN.

Stick to telnet and the CLI it's much more powerful.

Yeah I looked into CiscoWorks but it that is more than what I need. I just wanted something free, similar to the Network Assistant.

I was just wondering if there was something out there that would work. Thanks for the info.

You need to the ciscoview catos image for the switch and turn on the http services . The image will look like this , notice the CV in the middle of the name cat5000-sup3cv.6-4-22.bin . Once you turn on http services you can manage the switch via a browser , unless you have the CV image you cannot do this though.
