Has an Admin ever asked you for a "hotkey" to use for dumping callers straight into a specific person's voice mailbox?
You can do it. Here's how:
For demonstration purposes let's just use 4 Dn's -
1) For simplicity, let's say our hypothetical Admin has to cover 4 lines: ext 4001, 4002, 4003, 4004 - these may or may not be line key appearances on the Admin's phone - doesn't matter whether they are or are not. 2) Build up a dummy (phantom) multiline set, just in programming, it doesn't have to actually exist, which has a couple PKM-48s assigned to it (109 lines total plus the prime. (this is so the idea can grow) 3) Program our 4 "target" numbers as key appearances on the dummy/phantom set, prepending each DN with a star (*) - example, *4001, *4002, *4003, *4004 - make these single line, no ring appearances on the "dummy" instrument (you must use the * digit) 4) Now go to your Call Reroute Assignment form and program all four of these * numbers to call-reroute always to voice mail 5)Now when the admin takes a call for Joe Blow (4001) and the caller asks to be put into Joe's mailbox, our Admin only has to press the Trans/Conf button, dial *4001 and immediately release the caller.
(Programming note) - If the admin has room on his/her instrument, you could go a step further and make personal or CDE Speedcall entries for the (*) extensions so he/she coule simply press the Trans/Conf button followed by the appropriate speedcall button and immediately release (hang up).
